Why I Chose the Harder Business Path

Because the health impact is bigger. And stats back this up.

A packaged snack. A supplement.

Shelf stable - Easier to ship - Lower overhead.

But I didn’t leave partner track at a global firm to chase easy. I’m after real health and longevity changes. And that starts with our daily meals.

We all know this: what we eat daily has the most signicant influence on our energy, mind, mood, and longevity.

Individuals who adopt a healthy diet rich in diverse plants (we include 10 plants in every bowl + use superfoods and rare produce) and unsaturated fats (we use tahini, cold-pressed evoo, nuts, seeds) are 86% more likely to reach their 70s free of chronic diseases and intact physical, mental, and cognitive functions. [STUDY HERE]

THIS AMPS ME UP. This is very empowering.

So, how does this translate into a business?

Well, it’s quite complex honestly. Here’s some of the complexities I navigate to get wellness bowls into fridges:

  • Securing consistent fresh, local produce - We prioritize local, premium produce. It took me 5.5 months to find a reliable producer. Fresh, local produce is exactly what I want me and my family to be eating.

  • Top tier food safety and compliance - Certifications and trainings to stay compliant and ensure food safety every step of the way. Before launching, I certified and trained to ensure our business is compliant.

  • Cost effective delivery logistics - Balancing cost with delivering direct to homes, refridgerated trucks for delivery, and high-quality drivers. It took me 3.5 months to track down a reliable one - I had another CEO refer me.

  • Constant variety, superfoods, rare produce - Weekly planning occurs to ensure we rotate different plants and superfoods. The proof is in the recurring clients: we have clients who have been with us for over 4 months (i.e. since we launched).

  • Nutrition transparency to assure that you’re eating clean - We build out the ingredient list and nutrition facts (calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat) weekly for every bowl. Takes nutrition knowledge, and it’s worth it.

  • Ensuring every bowl is built with research-backed nutrition ratios: The method we use for every bowl combines complex carbs with fiber, healthy fats and protein because this combination is shown to stabilize blood sugar [study here] and sustain energy. Our client testimonials back this up too - what you say and how you feel after eating our wellness bowls means everything to me.

BOTTOM LINE: Every aspect of our wellness bowls are executed for real health and longevity changes, and so making real impact in a food business is complex. But a little complexity doesn’t scare me.
